The Company
Active Therapy Counseling was officially created in May of 2022 following the worldwide COVID pandemic of 2020. The dream of its owner, Tyler Schuhly, started with a simple question, “Does counseling really have to be conducted in the traditional office setting?” As he looked further into this, not only did he find that the science seems to support that there are many pieces of mental health that traditional counseling seems to leave on the table, but the vision continued to evolve as well.
Today, Active Therapy Counseling exists with two main goals. First, to provide an enjoyable therapy experience that is on the leading-edge of science, which incorporates traditional therapy techniques, nature, and enjoyable physical activities. Second, ATC desires to provide a business that allows other therapists to have their own private practice experience, while being supported by a team that will support them through the intimidating business side of owning a practice.
ATC aims to be a company/franchise that makes the decision for therapists desiring to own their own practice, and clients desiring an enjoyable and effective experience, easy, by providing an unbeatable experience for both!
ATC’s Mission
Active Therapy Counseling (ATC) strives to provide the best therapeutic experience possible through enjoyable and effective therapy, professional and competent therapists, and an encouraging and fulfilling work environment.
ATC’s Vision
Active Therapy Counseling’s vision is to provide cutting edge, science-based therapy that utilizes a whole-person approach to allow for the best therapeutic experience possible to all clients and therapists alike. We believe that this is the best approach to therapy, and no one should be without this option for their own mental health, therefore we desire to continue to expand by opening new offices while also providing an avenue for therapists to open their own offices under the ATC banner.

The Logo
The logo was created with much thought. When first looking at the logo, three distinct pieces can be seen, which symbolize the three pieces of active therapy. The blue section (left), the green section (right) and the orange section (middle).
The blue section has the texture of the human brain for the mental piece of active therapy.
The green section, with the texture of a tree, for the outdoor piece of active therapy.
Finally, the human piece of the logo, which symbolizes the physical activity part of active therapy.
All is brought together into one, central focal point, the heart. Emphasizing that all of the active therapy pieces have one central focus, the health of the human soul.
